Amid deepening educational reform, the Quantitative Finance Research Center has actively pursued teaching innovation, achieving remarkable results in course development and textbook writing that support the cultivation of well-rounded professionals with solid theoretical foundations and practical skills.

First-Class Courses: Balancing Theory and Practice

The Center has carefully developed a number of high-quality courses that combine theoretical depth with practical breadth. In 2021, Prof. Xiong Dewen's undergraduate course "Stochastic Processes" was designated a Shanghai Municipal First-Class Undergraduate Course. In 2024, Prof. Lin Yiqing's undergraduate course "Mathematical Finance" also received this designation, combining mathematical theory with financial practice through case analysis and simulated trading.

High-Quality Textbooks: Tracking Academic Frontiers

Prof. Xiong Dewen's co-authored "Probability Theory (2nd Edition)" won the SJTU Outstanding Textbook second prize in 2023 and was recommended for the national "14th Five-Year Plan" undergraduate textbook designation. The "Mathematical Finance" textbook being written by Prof. Lin Yiqing, Prof. Samuel Drapeau, and Prof. Luo Peng was approved as a 2025 SJTU Undergraduate Textbook Project.

Reform Outcomes: Enhancing Quality, Supporting Growth

Through first-class courses and high-quality textbooks, students gain solid expertise, strong practical skills, and innovative spirit, performing excellently in competitions, research projects, and internships. The Center will continue to deepen reform and cultivate outstanding quantitative finance professionals.
