Recently, the School of Mathematical Sciences announced the results of its 2025 Outstanding Graduation Thesis selection. Two theses supervised by Prof. Xiong Dewen of the Quantitative Finance Research Center were recognized as Outstanding Graduation Theses.

Wang Yuzhu's thesis, "Portfolio Strategies Based on Barra Factors and Deep Reinforcement Learning," focused on the cutting edge of quantitative finance, combining traditional factor models with emerging deep reinforcement learning techniques to offer new approaches to portfolio optimization. Zheng Bingyan's thesis, "Neural Network Models Integrating Lasso Regularization and Redundancy-Removal Constraints—Based on Lung Adenocarcinoma Survival Data Analysis," applied mathematical methods to medical data in an interdisciplinary approach, achieving innovative results in neural network research.

With his deep academic expertise and dedicated guidance, Prof. Xiong Dewen helped students achieve excellent results. These two outstanding theses demonstrate the Center's excellence in talent development and academic research, setting a benchmark for future teaching and research.
